In conjunction with receiving the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, neuroscientist Ardem Patapoutian, PhD, was recognized with the Lebanese Order of Merit. A delegation from Lebanon traveled to Scripps Research in October 2021 to present Patapoutian the national honor during a seaside ceremony. Patapoutian is a native of Beirut, Lebanon, and immigrated to the United States in 1986.
