Ben Cravatt, PhD

Benjamin Cravatt, PhD, professor and Gilula Chair of Chemical Biology, has received the 2021 Chemical Pioneer Award from The American Institute of Chemists, Inc. The award recognizes pioneering efforts in the fields of chemical biology, proteomics and metabolomics. In giving the honor, the institute said Cravatt’s work has “radically changed the standards of proteomics, resulting in innovative solutions to the creation of modern medicines.” Previous recipients of the Chemical Pioneer Award include Scripps Research professors Jeff Kelly, PhD (2017) and Donna Blackmond, PhD (2016).
